Dawn and Jon are employed by Global Ministries, the combined overseas work of The Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and the United Church of Christ. We have lived and worked in East London, South Africa for 8 years as development workers and are now doing the same in Maputo, Mozambique. We are in partnership with the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA). We are both ordained ministers. Dawn was a social worker previously in the USA before moving to Africa and her focus area has been HIV and AIDS. Jon was an associate minister in the USA and his focus while in Africa has been agriculture. We have two amazing kids, both born and raised in South Africa. Khaya is 8 years old and enjoys science, karate and fairies! Alyson (Aly) is 7 years old and enjoys tennis, swimming, and shoes! The other 2 members of our household that have travelled the world with us are our geriatric wienner dogs. Annie is 15 and Cosby is 14.
